“IT’ is here, Pennywise makes his big-screen debut in this film adaptation of the classic Stephen King novel. It has been twenty-seven years since Tim Curry dawned the clown make-up for the television mini-series and now we have a new adaptation of the story.
“Crown Heights” is written and directed by Matt Ruskin and stars; Lakeith Stanfield, Nnamdi Asomugha and Natalie Paul. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and it’s getting limited theatrical release this month.
“THE HITMAN’s BODYGUARD” reminds me of that person who is honestly very funny. But frequently you catch them recycling their material that landed well.
“GOOD TIME” premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and it’s getting a limited theatrical release this month. This film is directed by Ben and Joshua Safdie and the story follows Connie and Nick. Two brothers who botch a bank robbery and find themselves on the run.
“WIND RIVER” follows a veteran for the US Fish and Wildlife Service played by Jeremy Renner, who discovers the body of a girl in the rugged forest inside the Wind River Indian Reservation.
The story follows the last Gunslinger played by Idris Elba who has been endlessly battling Walter O’Dim also known as the Man in Black, played by Matthew McConaughey. A man who wields insurmountable levels of mystical powers, that is determined to topple the Dark Tower.
This wasn’t a movie to necessarily be excited for. It was surely going to depict some of the traumatizing moments that came from this real-life event. Kathryn Bigelow has shown when she has a topic for a film selected, she crafts a gritty, realistic, and unrelenting movie to capture it.
“Rough Night” stars; Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Zoë Kravitz, Jillian Bell and Ilana Glazer. This one is directed by Lucia Aniello and follows a bachelorette party gone wrong when a group of old friends meet up for some fun before one of them gets married and they accidentally kill a stripper
The strongest aspect of this movie was a combination of two things. Character performances and story-telling. First, the character performances. Ansel Elgort was excellent in this movie and shines in the lead role with a strong charisma in his persona of the young driver.
There is no doubt I have been so excited to see this film. I think the first two rebooted projects in the trilogy are both excellent for different reasons and watching the vision for this saga unfold has been absolutely compelling.
