Despite a really poor start to the series, Inhumans could still have a big future with many story-lines – and a couple more seasons?
According to online ratings, the Marvel show has been awful receiving just a mere 4% on Rotten Tomatoes and only 5.2/10 on IMDb. Some of the main complaints included: Poor acting, weak story-telling & unlikable characters.
Despite bad reviews, the show’s producer Scott Buck claims that the show might have a big future, which could stretch beyond the story arc of the first season. He believes that the current story will be wrapped up in season 1, but this could give a great opportunity for whole new stories should ABC gamble and produce another series.
Read what he told Collider below:
“I think things will continue to expand. The big major story that we’ll tell, over the course of the season, will be complete by the end of the season, but also open us up to a whole other potential storyline. New things blossom, in a big way, by the end of the season.”
Scott Buck is also known for producing Iron Fist, another Marvel series. Iron Fist was picked up for a season 2 on Netflix, however, Buck was replaced from his role by Raven Metzner who will take the reins for season 2. Could a similar scenario occur should Inhumans get renewed?
Synopsis: Black Bolt, the enigmatic, commanding head of the Inhuman royal family and King of Attilan, possesses a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city. After a military coup splinters the family, the group — which includes Black Bolt’s wife, Medusa; his brother and rival, Maximus; his cousins Karnak, Gorgon and Triton; and Medusa’s sister, Crystal — barely manages to escape to Hawaii, where surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.
