The Walking Dead: Andrew Lincoln Says ‘Old Rick’ Scene Will ‘Become Clearer’ In The Season 8 Premiere

That one clip from the end of ‘The Walking Dead’ season 8 trailer confused the entire fanbase, but it will be explained in the season 8 premiere, according to the Rich actor himself, Andrew Lincoln.

We got a good glimpse of the war to come in the huge 5-minute trailer, as well as a mysterious clip at the end, showing us an ‘old’ Rick Grimes laying in bed, a scene which seemed to confuse all viewers of the show. Comic-book readers most-likely know the answer already. If you don’t read the comics, what do you think is going on?

Since the SDCC trailer released we’ve has franchise creator Robert Kirkman tell us that we’ll learn what it means in the season 8 premiere, which is also the 100th episode of one of TV’s all time most popular shows. Now Andrew Lincoln has reassured us by saying all will become clearer. Read what he told EW.com below:

“It will become somewhat clearer after the October premiere. Then again, it may not be. It maybe still is somewhat opaque. I think that that’s possibly all I can say on the matter.”

Lincoln did actually say that when the season 8 scripts came through, he was  “shocked and kind of excited by it [The Old Rick Scene]”. He also teased: “I mean, it’s a grey Rick. It’s an older Rick. So by virtue of the fact that you see, that means that it’s in the future.”
