The news that the Emmy Award-Winning comedy will end came from THR, who reported that it won’t last to see an eighth season. The show’s executive producer David Mandel was said to have found it hard to end the show, especially when to end it, but decided upon finishing it after season 7.
When Veep was renewed for season 7 by HBO, there was a clear view for a season 8 but it now seems that vision has now warn out with actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus claiming that if the show stays any longer, it may become stale and un-welcome. Do you think this is a god time to end it?
Read what she said regarding the shock cancellation below:
“It became clear that this season should be the last season, we don’t want to repeat ourselves or wear out our welcome. The story has a finality to it that feels end-of-series.”
She did say that the decision of ending the show did not come easy, stating that her role as Selina Meyer was a once in a lifetime opportunity for her. See below:
“It wasn’t a decision that came easy. “Let’s face it, this has been a role of a lifetime,”
The farewell seventh season looks set to premiere on HBO during summer 2018. Remember to stay tuned for more VEEP news.
