Disney Will Pull Movies From Netflix And Launch Its Own Streaming Service

It’s a decision that’s been a long time coming, but we’ll soon see it come into fruition. The news that Disney is set to withdraw its movies available on Netflix and create its own streaming service.

The Walt Disney company announced this news on Tuesday, an announcement that will see all current Disney movies taken away from Netflix as well as any future releases. This will pave way for a new Disney-branded direct -to-customer service to be released in 2019.

In the announcement, they said that the new service, which is yet to have an official name, will become the exclusive home un the U.S for subscription-video-on-demand viewing. It will be live for the release of some of the most highly-anticipated movies of today, including: Toy Story 4, Frozen (Sequel), The lion King live-action. All current and future Disney short films/movies/TV shows will be found on there and not elsewhere. What do you think of Disney’s option to create their own streaming service. As well as this – Disney are going to be rolling out an ESPN-branded sports streaming service in early 2018. It will feature approximately 10,000 live regional, national, and international games and events a year, including content from Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League, Major League Soccer, Grand Slam tennis, and college sports.
