Vikings Actor Gustaf Skarsgård Lands Series Regular Role In ‘Westworld’ Season 2: What Does This Mean For Floki?

‘Vikings’ actor Gustaf Skarsgård, who plays Floki on the HISTORY drama has landed a series regular role in the critically acclaimed second season of HBO SciFi ‘Westworld’. What does this mean for our fan-favorite Viking Floki?

We know that Floki survives to see season 5 of ‘Vikings’ as he is in the trailer, but will his story come to an end this season? In the season 4B finale, Floki said he is the God’s to do with what they please and in the trailer we find that Floki finds new land on his own, land that the History Channel confirmed is Iceland.

We do not think that Floki will be killed off, but we do think that his story will end in season 5 and Gustaf will leave the show, because it would simply be too hard for him to juggle two huge-profile shows as a regular at once. But will he possibly return in the future? That remains to be seen.

His role in ‘Westworld’ season 2.

Gustaf will portray karl Strand in season 2 of Westworld, a character who HBO confirmed would be a series regular. Another actor set to join him is Betty Gabriel of Good Girls Revolt and Get Out. She, like Skarsgård, will also be a series regular. Gustaf’s character (Karl Strand) in Westworld season 2 is described as: a white-collar type of guy who is perfectly comfortable out in the field.

If he does leave the viking world, we’re really going to miss Floki, especially that laugh! Some good news about the show is that creator Michael Hirst has confirmed he has already started writing season 6, before it has already been renewed. He definitely seems confident of a renewal.

While your here, why don’t you re-watch that awesome ‘Vikings’ season 5 trailer?
