In the latest Game Of Thrones, Daenerys went to battle and Arya was finally reunited with Sansa, though it took the two forever to complete their scene together.
Season 7, Episode 4 of ‘Game Of Thrones’ may have been the shortest in the season but it contained one of the greatest battle sequences we’ve seen in the show’s history, and showrunners David & Dan believe a lot of credit has to go to the new director.
Also in the episode, we saw another Stark reunion after the Sansa/Bran one last week. This week saw Arya’s return to Winterfell. She was reunited with Sansa and Bran for the first time since season one. In her interview with EW, Maisie said it was hard to act alongside her real-life best friend Sophie Turner, saying they ‘F***** up many times.’ Read what she also said below:
“We couldn’t keep a straight face! Our relationship is so close, but it’s only that fun side, never the business side. I was nervous. It just terrified me. It’s like performing for your mom. When somebody is watching you don’t do it quite as well.”
David Benioff praised the new director, Matt Shakman, for the huge success in one of the first times we’ve seen Drogon in full action in a battle during the show.
Read what Benioff said below:
“It was an extraordinary directing from Matt Shakman, who came in with a lot of pressure on his shoulders. He’s a phenomenal director, but he’s mostly known for doing shows like The Good Wife, which is an excellent smart drama, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which is an excellent smart comedy. He’s never done a major battle like this. And it worked because of the massive planning he put into it and the crew really coming together. It’s very difficult to shoot a three-dimensional battle in terms of like the ground forces, the sky element… it was a lot to pull off.”
