‘The Walking Dead’ Season 8 Premiere WILL Explain That Confusing ‘Old’ Rick Scene From The Trailer

That one clip from the end of ‘The Walking Dead’ season 8 trailer confused the entire fanbase, but it will be explained in the season 8 premiere, according to Robert Kirkman.

‘The Walking Dead’ panel at this years SDCC gave us a first look at the new season. We got a good glimpse of the war to come in the huge 5-minute trailer, as well as a mysterious clip at the end, showing us an ‘old’ Rick Grimes laying in bed, a scene which seemed to confuse all viewers of the show. Viewers refuse to believe the elephant in the room, that it could all be a dream. It does look that way, there is even a set of flowers in the room like there was in Rick’s hospital room in season one. Let’s just face the fact that the show would never do this to us, imagine the uproar they would get. Safe to say it’s not ALL a dream.

There have been theories that say the scene in question could be rick dreaming of waking in the hospital which could be the most likely outcome of all. What do you think is happening?

One thing is for sure, in a recent interview, creator of the franchise, Robert Kirkman confirmed that we will find out what the mysterious scene is bout in the season 8 premiere, so we won’t be waiting on it for too long, thankfully.

Speaking of the scene, Kirkman said:

“I’m pretty sure you’ll learn in the first episode what that means.”

He continued:

“Or was it the time jump? I don’t know, maybe it was Rick waking up from his coma. Wouldn’t that be weird? That is an intriguing tidbit that we did throw out there on purpose, and we’re hoping that people continue to question how it is that fits into the story line and what it is,”

‘The Walking Dead’ returns October 22nd on AMC.
