ITV’s reality TV show ‘Love Island’ has been renewed for a much-wanted season 4, we can confirm.
‘Love Island’ proved to be one of the most talked about TV shows in Britain upon its release attracting millions of viewers. ITV have acknowledged the success and have in turn granted the reality show a fourth season, DragonFeed learns.
The reality show managed to merit a season 4 after gaining an average of 2.044 Million viewers per-episode of season 3 with 871,000 viewing after the air time on-demand and a further 897,000 online viewers. Very impressive numbers. ITV would have also been impressed by the number of online interactions the show reached, with ‘#LoveIsland’ reaching top trending in the UK on Twitter whenever a new episode aired.
The announcement came in the form of the Head of ITV Digital Channels & Acquisitions, Paul Mortimer, who said:
“We are delighted that viewers have embraced Love Island so wholeheartedly; it has become the most talked about show of the summer. We are thrilled that we will be back with a new series next year.”
We can expect season 2 to release summer of 2018, barring any delays.
