There Will Never Be A Cure In ‘The Walking Dead’ According To Creator Robert Kirkman

There Will Never Be A Cure In 'The Walking dead' According To Creator Robert Kirkman

In a recent interview, ‘The Walking Dead’ creator revealed that there will never be a cure for the zombie apocalypse in the show and comics.

Like many other zombie movies and shows, people presume a cure would be one of many likely endings to ‘The Walking Dead’, but creator Robert Kirkman has dismissed every ‘cure’ theory by revealing that the story will not end like that. He said the answer to that question is ‘No and no’.

Read what he said below:

“When we get questions like these we like to not be as definitive as possible because we don’t want to reveal anything. But the answers are ‘no’ and ‘no’.”

After seeing this, it seems Rick and his group will have to live the rest of their lives surrounded by Walkers. However, at this point in the series, the threat goes deeper than the Walkers, the main threat is the people. Providing a cure is found, the world would still be in anarchy and there could likely be even more power struggles. A cure would not automatically band everyone together.

Kirkman also said:

“On one, because it’s been done on a lot of other zombie stories. And two, because you know it’s kind of a mythology-breaking proposition. You don’t want that kind of thing as far as somebody being immune. And we have dabbled in that a little bit in the other show [Fear The Walking Dead].”

He Continued,

“To go off and try to solve this would be a boring show, so definitely not, but it’s a good question.”

It’ll be really interesting to see how it all ends! Do you have a theory?

‘The Walking Dead’ returns October 22nd on AMC
