‘Taboo’ To Last 3 Seasons? Three Season Storyline Planned For BBC/FX Show

Co-creator of the historical drama, Steven Knight, has confirmed that the show will only last for a total of three seasons.

The debut season of ‘Taboo’ caught the eye in both the UK ans the US. The first episode reached 1.839 Million US viewers and got a very good 8.7/10 rating on IMDb.  Speaking of the timeline of ‘Taboo’, Knight said we can expect the three seasons spit into ‘The escape’, The journey’ and ‘the arrival’. Speaking with Huffington Post UK he said:

“I can feel the three acts. The first was ‘the escape’. The second will be ‘the journey’ and the third will be ‘the arrival’, and that’ll be it. I don’t think the story will be what viewers are expecting, but hopefully they’ll enjoy it.”

Away from the timeline of the show, Steven Knight also mentioned the violent nature of the show, a unique type of violence that we don’t see too much on the BBC.

“It’s not simple violence. It’s dealing with a time when violence was much more acceptance, plus this kind of drama is about extreme situations, when people’s behavior is pushed beyond the borders of normal.”

Season 2 should be arriving next year on BBC One (UK).
