‘Downton Abbey’ Revival Movie Set For 2018 Production? Latest News Here

Downton Abbey‘s doors are still open following its six-season run. NBC exec Michael Edelstein has confirmed that the much mooted revival movie of the popular ITV/PBS series is set to begin production in 2018, per AP: “There’s a movie in the works. It’s been in the works for some time. We are working on getting the script right and then we’ve got to figure out how to get the (cast) together. Because as you know, people go on and do other things. But we’re hopeful to make a movie sometime next year.”

Downton Abbey is not yet finished despite its final season being over. The hit ITV/PBS series looks set to start production for a movie.

Since the series concluded its 6th season on Christmas day 2015, there has been an awful lot of speculation regarding a possible movie. In a recent interview with AP the NBC executive Michael Edelstein confirmed that the goal is to start production in 2018, he also hopes for a return of all major cast members, but understands some will have conflicts with other projects.
