‘Westworld’ Season 2: News, Release Date and Speculation

The first season of HBO’s Westworld was such a huge success, people are already talking of the next season. When will it release and what do we know about it?

In terms of viewing statistics, the first season was bigger than arguably the current biggest show in the world, Game Of Thrones. Before the first season aired, it was said on grapevines that writers had already planned the show to span out for a whopping 5 seasons, and HBO would sanction the other seasons, as long as the first season is a success.

Show-runners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy spoke of how challenging the show is to make, and that we may have to wait over a year until 2018 to get a season 2.

“The production is enormously challenging and ambitious, and so is the writing,” Nolan said, off the back of the renewal news. “So we said very early on that we wouldn’t be able to turn this around every year.”

When will it begin filming? – “probably June or July” According to Ed Harris, who portrays the Man in Black, ten new episodes of Westworld will begin filming in summer 2017, most likely airing May-July 2018.

As we have seen with ‘The Walking Dead‘ season 6, we believe that season 2  of Westworld will have extended episodes, down to the fact that fans will be waiting over a whole year to see the new episodes, and the season finale was extended.
