The Walking Dead: Has Sasha’s Fate Been Decided? Sonequa Martin-Green Leaving For ‘Star Trek’?

‘The Walking Dead’ actress Sonequa Martin-Green could be forced into leaving the the show due to a conflicting role in ‘Star Trek’.

The Walking Dead showrunner Scott M. Gimple claimed that he would be willing to juggle for Martin-Green’s role on Star Trek “any day of the week” other than Sundays. Gimple left the question unanswered about whether or not Sasha would continue as a regular (or at all) on Walking Dead.

Sonequa spoke of the matter in an interview “Well, I can’t say anything,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “I can say that the story is as impactful and powerful and dynamic as it always has been, and there’s nothing to worry about where that’s concerned.”

It seems she may be safe, though, as executive producer Scott M Gimple added: “Sonequa Martin-Green can do anything. “I’ve seen her battle a horde of walkers this year while simultaneously battling a stomach flu that would have had most people crying in the dirt.” Gimple explained.

(MAJOR SPOILERS) If the second half of Season 7 follows the example of the graphic novels by Robert Kirkman, Sasha isn’t going to last much longer if she walks in the footsteps of the comic-book character she is loosely based on.

Sasha’s character is loosely based on a woman named Holly from Kirkman’s story. As depicted in the comics, she’s turned into a zombie after being captured by Negan and his saviors. Holly’s actually delivered back to Alexandria with a bag over her head and is assumed to still be perfectly fine until the bag is removed.
