HBO Hopes For More ‘Game Of Thrones’ Episodes And Prequel

Even though ‘Game Of Thrones’ season eight is not officially confirmed, HBO seem to be holding out for a confirmation that the creators want more than the expected six-episode final season airing in 2018 which will follow the seven-episode season 7 which airs summer this year.

This would come as brilliant news for fans of the show who just can’t get enough of Westeros and it’s endless excitement. Show-runners David Benioff and D.B Weiss also haven’t yet ruled out the possibility of having a prequel or spin-off. In an interview when asked about a prequel they claimed it didn’t seem a bad idea and they would most likely be fully backed by HBO to go ahead with production. .

It seems Casey Bloys, HBO programming president would favor more episodes.

“I think they’re trying to get a shape of the season,”  Casey Bloys said. “They always do what they think [will yield] the best version of the show. It’s all about how many they’re comfortable [with]. But I’ll always take more.”
