‘Game Of Thrones’ Spin-off Likely And Idea Has ‘Not Escaped The Producers’

With the series coming to an end in 2018,  HBO fantasy ‘Game Of Thrones’ is sure to go down in television history as one of the greatest shows of all time. But will it be completely finished in 2018?

Show-runner David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have both remained silent when asked about a possible future spin-off and claim we should simply just get excited about the two series we have left and not get carried away. However, the premium cable network’s CEO Richard Plepner has confirmed that a spin-off looks extremely likely.

He said: “There might be some brand extension that would be exciting. It certainly has not escaped the producers. Right now we’re focused on finishing the series with the kind of energy and excitement that everyone has come to expect. We’re going to do that while at the same time parallel processing very embryonic stages of other possibilities.”

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that the remaining 13 episodes were to be split across two seasons with the next batch of episodes – season seven – arriving later than usual in the summer of 2017. The whole series will come to a full conclusion in 2018, bar a possible spin-off.

The most likely story-line for a spin-off would be Roberts Rebellion. This was an extremely popular story in the ‘A Song Of Ice And Fire’ books that sadly did not make it into the TV version
