Whether you like Minecraft or you hate it, most of us have played it at some point in our lives.
You did’t read it wrong, the writer of the zombie thriller ‘World War Z’ (Max Brooks) has began work on a new, slightly different, definitely more controversial novel titled “Minecraft: The Island”.
The novel, of which we do not have too much information on at the moment, will be set in the pixel world which is Minecraft.
“Think cuboid Robinson Crusoe, but madder: a hero stranded in an unfamiliar land, with unfamiliar rules, learning to survive against tremendous odds,” says Mojang’s Marsh Davies. “I’ve peeked at an early draft and it’s entirely amazing, just as we knew it would be.”
It is not yet confirmed when the book will be released or if it will have ties to the movie but it does appear that it will be the first of many novels to come.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be working with the fantastic team at Mojang on what will be the first ever official Minecraft novels,” said Keith Clayton, VP, Associate Publisher at Del Rey, “and we’re so fortunate to have someone of Max’s incredible talent and passion on board for the launch of the series.”
